How can we help you?
Dr. Corn and his team understand that patients have many questions about their dental care.
We love this and we encourage questions!
We’ve compiled a few of our most frequently asked questions and their answers, but if you don’t see the answer you’re looking for here, feel free to call us. Our staff is always happy to answer your questions.
At Corn Family Dentistry, we understand how busy and hectic our patients’ schedules can be.
It can be hard to fit dental appointments into your daily calendar. Dr. Corn believes that quality dentistry should fit into your schedule, and not the other way around. This is why we’ve tried to make our office hours more convenient for patients by offering evening hours on Tuesdays.
We also offer emergency care whether you’re a patient of record or new to our practice. We understand that dental emergencies are typically painful and inconvenient, so we strive to see our emergency patients on a same-day basis if possible.
We’re always accepting new patients, and for your convenience, we’re in-network with a number of different insurance companies in order to help keep dentistry affordable for all patients. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you understand your coverage better so you’ll always get the maximum benefit for the treatment you need.
You’ll find state-of-the-art equipment at Corn Family Dentistry that allows us to offer comprehensive services, so you’ll rarely ever have to go anywhere else for aspects of your care.
Come and see what sets us apart! Contact Corn Family Dentistry to schedule your next appointment.
Unlike other providers in the area, Dr. Corn chooses to be in-networks with a number of dental insurance providers so he can help patients afford the dental care they need. Here are a few of the networks we participate in:
- Delta Dental
- Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Health Resources, INC.
These are just a few of the dental networks Dr. Corn is associated with, so if you don’t see your insurance listed here, we encourage you to call us and speak with a staff member about your coverage.
It’s important to understand that you’ll receive the maximum benefit when you choose to work with a provider in your network. Often, you’ll receive 100% coverage for preventative appointments. You’ll also receive a higher percentage of payment for treatment procedures, which means lower costs for you.
We know that dental benefits can be confusing and hard to understand, and we also understand that cost is a concern for many patients. If you need help deciphering your benefits or discussing your options for payment, contact our office to learn more about your dental coverage and how we can help you maximize your benefits.
Most dental plans participate in a calendar year system, which means that your benefits renew in January and end in December. There is typically a deductible to be met and a maximum amount your insurance will pay for treatment each year. Many dental plans fully cover preventative appointments, which means there is no out-of-pocket cost for you, while treatment procedures are typically paid at a percentage.
The amounts of deductibles, maximums, and percentage of coverage vary greatly with each different plan, even within the same insurance provider. Some important questions to ask about your own dental insurance plan are:
- What services, if any, are fully covered?
- Does my plan run on a calendar year?
- Is there a deductible associated with my plan?
- What is my maximum for the year?
- Is my provider in the network?
While your dental insurance can be used at an out-of-network practice, it’s better for you to work with a dentist who is in your insurance network in order to maximize your benefits. When you choose a provider within your network it means that your routine cleanings and check-ups are typically covered 100% and your treatment procedures are paid at a higher percentage than an out-of-network provider, which means less money out of your pocket.
Unlike other providers in the area, you’ll find that Dr. Corn is in network with a number of dental insurance plans including:
- Delta Dental
- Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Health Resources, INC.
- HIP Plan
If your plan is listed here, working with Dr. Corn will ensure that you receive the maximum benefit from your dental insurance. If your plan is not listed here, we encourage you to call our office anyway as these are just a few of the networks we participate in.
We love to see children at Corn Family Dentistry!
We know first visits are important for children to set them up for success in the future, and this is why Dr. Corn spends time getting to know your child and building a relationship with them early on. We encourage parents to bring their children to their own dental appointments so they can get acclimated to our office and see that the dentist isn’t a scary place.
Ideally, Dr. Corn likes to start seeing children around the age of two years old. While this may seem early, we want to help your child get comfortable with the “big chair” and the instruments we use. This also gives us an opportunity to begin monitoring your child’s development so we can make you aware of any concerns early on.
As you child gets older, we may recommend services such as fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and mouth guards. Fluoride and dental sealants help build, strengthen, and protect small teeth from tooth decay and cavities. Mouth guards are essential in protecting your child’s mouth and teeth from sports-related injuries.

Dental implants are the best tooth replacement option that dentistry has to offer, and Dr. Corn is proud to offer comprehensive implant treatment at Corn Family Dentistry. This means that while other dentists refer their patients to specialists for the surgical portion of implant dentistry, Dr. Corn’s extensive training allows him to offer this service here in the comfort of our office.
Dental implants restore your root with a titanium post and your tooth with a porcelain crown. Dr. Corn uses 3-D x-rays to plan surgical placement of your implant ahead of time, which allows for more precision and efficiency during surgery.
After your implant has had time to heal, Dr. Corn will customize a porcelain crown to replace both the form and function of your natural tooth. With your new tooth, you’ll be able to eat, chew, smile, and talk to others with confidence again. You’ll also be able to brush and floss with ease, making your dental implant simple to care for.
Dr. Corn can determine if a dental implant is right for your needs with a thorough examination and x-rays. He can also discuss other options for tooth replacement if dental implants are not in your future. Give Corn Family Dentistry a call today to learn more.
X-rays are an important diagnostic tool that Dr. Corn uses to see inside and between your teeth to detect any issues that might be missed with the naked eye. Whether this is your first visit or you're here for your routine cleaning, we recommend that you have x-rays taken to help us detect any issues with tooth decay or gum disease in their earliest stages. This ensures that you can successfully treat these issues with the least invasive and costly treatment procedures.
We use digital x-rays at Corn Family Dentistry. This type of imaging emits 80% less radiation and is safer for our patients than a day spent out in the sun. Digital images are also readily available for viewing so we can offer treatment recommendations in a timelier manner. Because there are no harsh chemicals needed for developing the x-rays, they’re also much safer for the environment.
We encourage our patients to have diagnostic x-rays taken at least once per year in order to best diagnose and treat dental concerns early on. This is just one more way we can help you be proactive about your oral health. Give Corn Family Dentistry a call today to schedule your next appointment.
Whether you’re visiting us for the first time for a routine six-month cleaning and checkup or you haven’t been to a dentist in years – we welcome you! We’re happy that you’ve chosen Corn Family Dentistry for your care and that you’ve taken the first steps to visit our office.
First visits typically last around 60 minutes, and Dr. Corn spends much of that time getting to know you, discussing your concerns and goals for your oral health with you, and examining your mouth and teeth. If we don’t find any concerns with gum disease, we’ll try to complete your first cleaning during that time.
For patients who’ve been away from the dentist for a while, please know that we never make judgments. We understand that life happens, and we’re glad you’re here. If it's been some time since your last cleaning, we may need additional time to complete a more thorough cleaning for you to get you back on track. In this case, your cleaning would be scheduled at your next appointment.
In either case, we’re so glad you’re our patient, and we look forward to building a relationship with you and helping you achieve optimum oral health and a beautiful smile. Welcome to Corn Family Dentistry!
Preventative care is truly the best way to achieve and maintain optimum oral health. When your preventative visits such as routine cleanings and check-ups are covered at 100% with no other cost for you, there is really no reason not to utilize that benefit.
With regular six-month appointments, we hope to help you avoid many costly dental issues such as periodontal (gum) disease and tooth decay from happening in the first place. Early detection of conditions like gum disease, decay, and oral cancer allows you the best opportunity for successful early treatment with a less invasive or costly procedure.
Your team at Corn Family Dentistry is here to help you achieve your goals for your smile and maintain your oral health while providing you with an exceptional experience every time you visit. Give us a call today to schedule your next appointment!
